I have a Comp Sci degree and I’ve never built a PC (until now!)

Even though I went to school for Computer Science, I've never actually custom-built my own PC before. I've always played on laptops or hand-me-downs, except for my current PC which was made using NZXT's BLD service back when GPUs had huge markup after-market.
But this time, I wanted to build the ultimate, Sonic-inspired gaming and video editing rig.
Will my studied knowledge prove useful? Or will my lack of experience lead me in over my head?
Let's find out!

If you beat Ego, you can overcome anything.

There is one particular person in your life that is your greatest enemy; your Final Boss. They’re harder on you than any critic, they put their wants and needs over yours at every opportunity, and they try to control every facet of your life at the expense of everything and everyone you care about-and that person is you! What I’m talking about is of course, the concept of Ego, and while ego doe...
Video Editing is HARD. (but doesn't have to be!)

Get the Davinci Resolve Cheatsheet, Guidebook, and Plugins Bundle: NeatOnTheRocks.com/products/editing-essentials One of the number one reasons I hear would-be UA-camrs and Creators give as to why they’re burning out, or sometimes haven’t even started yet is that they struggle with editing videos. Cool details and secrets in Sonic 1
Переглядів 140 тис.2 місяці тому
Sonic 1 probably isn't your favorite Classic Sonic game, but the lack of expectations or a "formula" for what was to come makes it one of the most creative and unique entries to the franchise still to this day. Almost every act in the game has a well-hidden 1-Up monitor to be found, and several of the longer stages that are slower and less fun on repeat playthroughs can be cut down or even skip...
Talent doesn't exist. (and that's a good thing!)
Переглядів 35 тис.2 місяці тому
At least not in the way you probably think. The concept of "Talent" in my experience makes us think worse of ourselves and what we're capable of achieving. I’ve heard so many people write themselves off and say “Oh, I’d love to be a guitar player, or graphic designer, or a UA-camr, but I just don’t have the talent-I don’t have whatever it is that other, more successful person has, I wasn’t born...
Can You Beat Spyro 3 WITHOUT Breathing Fire?

What's the first thing you think of when someone mentions DRAGONS?? It's probably the fact that they breathe fire. So could Spyro be the hero of the Dragon Realms without his flame breath? This challenge run is here to find out. I chose Year of the Dragon as I knew from the get-go that the battles against Gnasty Gnorc and Ripto in their respective games would require breathing fire. But none of...

This is a review of sorts, but I'm mostly here to call attention to the o...

in a world where engagement is everything and it revolves around money, there are still some people who just want to make an art. back then youtube push creator to be more creative with their content, so it inspire more people to be creative too, and each creator feels more unique and genuine. nowadays most creator feels the same because they now have to serve the alghoritm to reach their peak instead of becoming more creative. this trend is occur basically in everything, music, videogame, football, sport, and so on. im currently working on a game project with my college team at a bootcamp. i have a gaming youtube channel and also music channel too which currently inactive because of internet and college. with this type of video, even when it didnt reach a broader audience, but personally it inspire me and us who just want to make better thing for themselves and other that there are still more people that appreciate a genuine arts create by an artist to express their feeling instead of corporate soulless media. thank you for such an inspirational video, and lets create arts now.

I am a musician and have been playing and writing music for a short while now, next year I leave for Uni to study music, just finishing my last year of school. I've been so scared of what future I may have as a musician, whether or not I'll actually be able to make it, especially as my country (New Zealand) doesn't exactly have the biggest music industry, but right now, I don't care. I know I'm gonna be fine, one way or another, and I'll be able to write the music I love writing. Right now I've actually been working on this song that I've had stewing in my list of ideas for a while and I'm so happy to see where it's going, and for once, I see the imperfections in my music as a stepping stone on my way to improve. I am probably going to go back to this video a lot, and I will never forget your advice. You told me exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you. Also if there is any way to I would love to share what I'm working on. Thank you so much.

I had been a UA-cam creator for atleast 4 years now and a TikTok creator for almost two, and one of the things I learned during my creative run was that not every video i churn out will be as good as the previous one. I remember being so frustrated that after a video of mine will go off, my succeeding videos will not have the same feedback. Watching this video, I realized that I shouldn't be worrying about the views or how many likes it will get, it is my willingness to continue creating, my creative drive if you will. I have since been defunct because of lack of motivation, but I'm considering a comeback. Thank you man.

I'm so glad I found this video at this exact point in my life. It genuinely feels like I've finally found someone who really gets what I want to do with my life when I've been constantly berating myself for the past couple of years for not choosing more optimal or logical paths in life that would give me comfort but would end up with me doing things that are not important to me. I feel like even while going to college nobody really cared what was truly important to me as an artist and I always felt like I'm stupid for not wanting to do certain things (like learn how to successfully make effective graphic/video commercials or take part in official graphic design community art contests) just because it wasn't the thing I felt was important to me. I was so burned out but recently I started actually believing in that dream of mine, that I could do something that is not some optimised and made-for-profit slop and still be successful with it. And now this video, as if my inner voice was heard somehow. And of course, I always knew that some compromises are needed to be done to not starve to death, and I got a lot of ideas to cover those bases too. Thank you for this video. EDIT: At 22:00 you made me almost burst in tears man. I felt the message deeply and it absolutely resonated with what I feel is my calling.

Every moment that I stop to study, I start to think at open my IG or other social media. Then, although I could study, It turn into something boring to do and I feel pressure to do it at any cost. 8:17 RANDOM RUNESCAPE MENTION WOOOOOOOOO Edit: You make a good point without actually having played the game, there is a whole separate community, myself included, that play the ironman gamemode, which essentially restrics you from trading with other players or (for the most part) benefiting from them in other ways, and so the whole aspect of making money to aquire better gear or better stats or whatever no longer becomes the meta when you have to achieve the stuff on your own. Of course, the gamemode is a tricky subject when it comes to completely "standing alone", like what about group content, but that's a topic for another day.

You know, I've always wanted to make a Game Grumps-esque gameplay youtube channel featuring my friends and I. I really enjoy hanging out with them and making them laugh or react to the weird and sometimes random things I do, and I've always had the thought of "I wonder if other people would laugh at what I just said." I've had the youtube channel made for a while now, and I have HOURS upon hours of footage of us just playing games recorded, but I've never actually... gone and uploaded any of it. I'm glad you talked about editing because that's like the big thing that holds me back, how much of it should I edit? How much is too little or "not enough effort" for it to be considered good? Will anyone enjoy it if I just uploaded minimal editing? ...Now that I'm sitting here thinking about it, I've got so much footage to work with that I might as well do it and figure that out through experience. I've been afraid of being a "wannabe youtuber" or whatever for so long.

I can tell, after hearing you mumble nonsense for 15 minutes on a video with 0 production value that your call in life is NOT creative content, otherwise you'd be creating something. You mentioned that you left a safe job for the uncertainty of a youtube career, and that you first started by making self help content. You mentioned that you were, in fact, NOT depressed (ok?). This makes total sense, you're not a creative person, in fact you lack a passion and that did depress you, it eventually pushed you to the oh so bold decision of starting a "youtube career". You're not the first to go through this. You're a classic generic example of depressed dude with no talents or passions becoming a mediocre content creator and doing freaking nothing all day, because it pays the bills. You're a little kid that never found it's way and is stuck watching cartoons all day but still wants to be an adult. You don't understand how meritocracy works in the real world (because it does) meaningh you don't know what hard work is OBVIOUSLY (Unedited 27min long sonic gameplay...) You're the failed generation of nothing doers, maker of ipad kids content, and it shows in every sentence that you said during this video. Creative people leave something to the world once they're gone. Is this what you're leaving? Some frogling boring ass videos? Also go to therapy you obviously need it.

Hello, I have fwlt the same way for me. I love to play minecraft and just experience life and shere it. but i keep being told that no one wants to see a 1-4 hour VOD of someone enjoying what they do. You need to edit out the boring or repetive tasks. you need to constnely engage with your viewer. I don't believe this. I brealive that if you contune to what makes you happy eventyuly people will find your content and wnjoy it just like you do. That being said. I have made those AI shorts videos but it's because i enjoy reashurch but i dont like editing so i take my reshurch and i create AI videos to shere my thoughts with the world. It shouuldnt matter what it looks like It's the idea, passion and thought behind it is what matters. That is what makes it art. BTW I know my spelling is sh!t but i dont care, like i said it's the thought that counts not how it is showed to ohters.

That’s funny, since a while I think „I might make UA-cam videos“ (well, not as a job, but.. I think it might be fun) and this thought comes back again and again and I even started writing down ideas (which would be fun projects for itself), but… well, I am not motivated enough to get started. and now this video appeared in my feed😅 But yeah, might give it a shot, knowing damn well I won’t be good from the start and my subjects would be very niche-y. Maybe I‘ll really give it a shot! Also… @17:40 actually describes my current situation. Maybe this video is a sign :d

About a year and a half ago, I had to get a “real” job that I was working 45-55hrs a week I was out of energy and time to do what I love. Making videos & streaming. I now lie here with my hours taken away from me, after putting my all into that job, staying late to help out. So I’m basically out of a job and considering getting back into what I loved. I might be rusty but, thank you for the inspiration.

I've been streaming on and off for 6 years but let me tell you, I've had slow but apparent growth when I came back, thanks to another streamer, (A Zelda Speedrunner no less) all because i was just being myself. This video is proof that a new era of content creator is here, no more personalities no more over exaggerated pizzazz. Just do what you want. This new era has done nothing but motivate me and make me genuinely happy, I've actually been trying to plan out what to do ahead of time. I'm so close to Twitch Affiliate already, i just need a higher view count average. But even then, I'm actually having the most fun I've had in my 6 years on and off. Great video with nothing but facts, I'm so glad this is how it's going now.
